Bob Philip '40 and Frank Pritchard '42
Several of the senior graduates attended the September luncheon. Frank Pritchard is Class of '42 and manages to attend a fair number of luncheons during the year. Frank and his brother, Joel, were key members of the kitchen cabinet for former Governor Dan Evans. And Bob Philip '40 was a successful publisher of the Tri-City Herald newspaper as well as serving a number of terms as a Regent of the University of Washington.
It's great to have these guys showing up at a luncheon to talk a little Husky football.

Jerry Thornton '55 shares Baseball Honors
At the recent September luncheon, Jerry Thornton '55, contributed the pictured Husky Hall of Fame plaque honoring the 1959 Husky Baseball Team. The plaque was accepted by Jack Rhodes '60, and it will be added to the growing archives for Sigma Tau Chapter.
Jerry shared a few stories of the Husky Baseball team which included several Sigma Tau Fijis in addition to Jerry. Jerry was captain of the team, and he is pictured in the front row. In the second row are the other Fijis playing on this Husky Hall of Fame team: Bob Wyman '62, Pete Hanson '59, and Dick Reiten '61.

September Luncheon - Husky Football review by O.D. Vincent
Always a popular luncheon when the football coach is speaking, this September SARK luncheon was SOLD OUT two weeks in advance. The coach wanted to speak and run, so the room was packed by noon as we awaited the arrival of Coach SARK. With no coach in sight by 12:10, Ron Crockett '61 was pacing the floor. Then the call came.
SARK had a last minute urgency, and he had just called the Senior Associate Athletic Director -- O.D. Vincent to represent him. With a mere 5 minutes notice, O.D. had dropped everything and hustled the few short blocks to the Seattle Yacht Club. A relieved Crockett introduced O.D. and we were soon enjoying a comprehensive conversation about Husky football and the PAC 12 program.
O.D. proved to be a great fill-in. He is a Husky who is former captain of the golf team. He's played the professional golfing circuit in Europe, and he is a rising star in the athletic management field. As an undergraduate O.D. was in a fraternity, and he quickly established himself as a likeable, informed fellow who make a brief presentation and then answered any and all questions for the next half hour plus.
The full room of Fijis got information beyond the football progam, and O.D. also alerted us to the likely deployment of the 3 tight end formations that appeared on the field the following Saturday.
