Rush report for early August
2011 Rush Chairs - Nick Timberlake '13 and Riley Goodman '13 being congratulated by Jerry Keppler '68 |
The goal for 2011 rush is 30 new members. As a comparison, this time last year, the signed member count was at 27. So there is some pressure to close-out the summer with a big push.
Congrats to the rush co-chairs and all the others who are part of the rush team. A note that 15 recommendations from graduates have been received in the past month, and the rush chairs will always welcome a few more recs. Recs can be submitted via the website www.FijiSeattle.com
Rush Advisor - John Bratrud '95 |
August Luncheon - Speaker Neil Fallon - Northwestern Class of '89
Neil Fallon - Northwestern '89 |
A lifelong resident of Tacoma, Neil graduated from Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma where his experiences included quarterback of the football team. Recruited to play football at Northwestern, Neil joined the Fiji chapter and became "purple".
For the past 20 years Neil has been a real estate developer in Pierce County where he managed well until the recent downturn had him re-evaluating his economic prospects. Neil shared the process that got him into the craft brewery business.
Neil recruited a prominent brewmaster to partner with him to create the craft brewery now known as the American Brewery Company. The brewery was launched the end of February this year.
Neil wheeled in samples of his first bottling. |
